Quotes from the Book.
WESSEX.
"Commissioned 30th April 1918. joined the 13th Destroyer Flotilla of the Grand Fleet until December 1918 when she was detatched for service in the Baltic until February 1919.
Weeks after joining the Grand Fleet she was damaged in a collision with VANCOUVER on the 27th June 1918. After assessment, she paid off on the 26th July 1918 for collission repairs. She Recommissioned and rejoined the 13th Destroyer Flotilla on the 31st August 1918.
VANCOUVER.
Commissioned on the 21st January 1918 with the 11th Destroyer Flotilla.
27th June 1918, severely damaged in collision with WESSEX. Paid off for collision repairs on the 31st July 1918 and did not recommission until the 3rd December 1918, rejoining the 11th Destroyer Flotilla."
