The Belgian transport Kamina at Newcastle on 27 July 1967, she had offloaded troops at Tyne Commission Quay before moving up to Newcastle. She is the ex German Herman von Wissmann taken as a war prize.

Built in 1940 at Hoboken, Antwerp by J Cockerill for Poland.
Seized by the Germans and used as a support ship for U-Boats in Norway.
Transferred to Britain in 1945 and finally given to Belgium in October 1950.

Ex ROYAL HAROLD. Ex HERMANN VON WISSMANN.
Naval Auxiliary Transport.
5,750 Tons Full Load. 15 knots.
2 x 3"-4 x 40mm AA and 5 x 20mm AA
Troop capacity 650. Crew 168.
