Leander Class Frigate launched by Stephen on the 8th July 1964.
2,650 Tons Displacement.
372ft x 41ft.
2 x 4.5in. Sea Cat. Helo. Later Exocet and Seawolf.
Sold to Victoria Paper Stock Co and towed from Portsmouth on the 13th October 1992 for breaking up in India.

PHOEBE Alongside at Spillers Wharf around 1987 not sure on the exact date maybe someone can fill me in on that.

You are probably right Brian I sort of picked the date out of the air so to speak. I don't think she ever came back again I tried to get aboard her but a very young Middy chased me off.

Dave - had another look - the photo now attached was taken 27 November 1990 and the yellow van on the quay looks like the one in your pic.
