She is based at Kingston-upon-Hull, her specific role is to provide sea training opportunities for undergraduates from the Universities of Yorkshire including (but not limited to) Leeds, Sheffield and Hull. She is also available at any time to conduct military tasking as directed by the Commander in Chief Fleet.

At the risk of repeating myself (it's my age) for me these Craft have served the R.N. well considering their age and must be cost effective, not sure about the training regime of the "Uni Snotties" and how cost effective their training is to the Taxpayer bearing in mind they have not taken the 'Queens Shilling' and really have no liability to serve in the event of.
For me if they want to sample RN life they should join the RNR and show some commitment to Queen and Country and the Taxpayer as the RNR Members do, what I would not like to see again is an ex "Uni" Junior Officer on Television on his way to the Falklands in 1982 saying "I don't want to go to War" surely the clue is in the title of the "Armed Services"
Mind you if they were not at sea they would most probably be protesting somewhere :o
Are my comments a bit harsh?
