Belgian tug Valcke - A950

Belgian Navy tug VALCKE - A950 visiting the Wear on 09/05/2000.

Built 1960 as the STEENBANK, she was purchased in 1980 from A Smit.
420 tons full load (183 gross)
13 knots.
Twin Deutz 8-cyl diesels with electric drive to the prop.
Has had a few engine problems and has had a bit of a hit and miss time. By mid 2000 she was inactive but back active by 6-2002. She can carry 18.1 cubic metres of fresh water.
Probably razor blades by now............

VALCKE outwards from Sunderland. Sorry no date on photo, may be the same visit recorded by Kevin.
