Another in the line of Experimental Vessels Commissioned and crewed by R.N. five persons in total but space to carry those extra people that will be involved in the "Experiments".
A very narrow gutted vessel and judging by the size of her Quarter Deck it looks as though she will be the floating platform for the new generation of autonomous equipment the R.N. seem to be very keen on pushing these days.
Not sure how she was paid for bearing in mind the "Triton" cost £20 million but fortunately V.T. contributed £13.5 million as she was on one of these maintenance contracts with their Builders which is why some of the Fleet look decidedly 'scruffy' these days :x
Will she ever visit our area only time will tell, the "Speedy" Jetfoil Patrol vessel (which we could do with now) used to pop into Hartlepool and of course the "Triton" has been advertised as a potential platform for conversion to a Private Yacht by her present Owners Gardline, cannot see that happening, looks like a scrapyard candidate.
The 'Black Budget' seems to be taking some hammering :(

Just had a browse through utube this afternoon and up pops the P.B. and a very interesting piece on her and it would appear that she is tied in a Maintenance Agreement with Damen her unmistakable Builders, she is certainly "lean manned" with a Crew of 5, looks like a " Day Boat" job.
Who's turn is it to cook? Have they ALL been on a cooking course, a Deck 'management' course, a Coxswains course, an Engineroom 'management' course good job the vessel is UMS :D
