It was announced officially on Sunday 11 November 2018, the Centenary of The Great Wars Armistice, that the 8th and currently final planned Type 26 City class frigate for the RN will be named HMS London.

This was predictable after ship 4 was named Birmingham, London then had to be the final name but it still leaves 3 to be allocated. Other names so far are with number of times used including these...

1 - Glasgow 9th
2 - Cardiff 4th
3 - Belfast 2nd
4 - Birmingham 4th
5 - tba
6 - tba
7 - tba
8 - London 14th

In my view ships 5- 6 - 7 will be Newcastle - 8 -, Sheffield - 3 - or Liverpool - 9 -, Exeter - 6 -, Geographic location will be significant in this decision with - numeral - denoting previous ships of name.
Thats all folks. Sean.

This is all like counting chickens before they are hatched - or in this case even ordered.
