YSE The last trips

Postby RichardP » Mon Oct 22, 2018 2:00 pm

They say that all good things must come to an end and so it is with the Yorkshire Ship Enthusiasts. Just one more visit to the Humber ports remains in the programme and that's it. YSE will officially close down on 31st December 2018 but all is not yet lost.

The final YSE Calendar is currently at the printers, so get saving up for your last chance to purchase this magnificent calendar.
Send your orders to Roy Cressey at 3 Kelmscott Gardens, Crossgates, Leeds LS15 8HL - just £6 each including postage.

And in the meantime, we have just got back from the Tees - and a few photos from that outing will appear in the Tees section of NEM in the very near future.

Sad to hear that Richard but it's just a reflection of the hobby nowadays, not enough youngsters to carry on the traditions, maybe it's just that the ships aren't as interesting as they used to be (but bet someone said that when the Yorkshire Barquentine Enthusiasts closed down ..... ). Thanks for all your work in organising trips over the years.

"Those were the days my friend we thought they would never end" when Passenger Ships looked elegant and not like a block of Flats along with Cargo Vessels with various types of Cargo and not stacked with Steel Boxes the contents of some not as listed on the manifest falling off ships accidentally or on purpose causing havoc when they float just below the surface.
