Re the minesweepers at HMS Wessex - Curzon belonged to Sussex RNR and as Fittleton was lost in 1976. The others are Woolaston M1194 (Thames) and M2010 Isis (Cradley) which belonged to London RNR and they were often berthed in Southampton to allow for weekend trips across the Channel

Most probably the RNR lads still miss the size of the "Tons" and the comradeship that the larger Crew can give when away on their Weekends and Fortnight "Cruises" although if I remember correctly those going to foreign parts instead of Berwick still had to drop into "Vernon" for debriefing and where Customs would do what you would call a "selective" Rummage. ;)
Certainly RN Crews could get through complete China Teasets from France when I was with the Red "V" :D
