Need some info on Lloyd's Register 1959-60, from some one who has one, is the register of ships in one volume ? (excluding the appendix). Later editions have A - L and M - Z is this all in one ? .

I always thought it was 2 books..no doubt one of the Ship Society lads will be along with every edition since 1745 soon...

Hi,

My 64-65 Register has the ships in a single volume, but by 67-68 it's two volumes and by 83-84 three volumes.
Regards, Dennis.

I don't have 59/60, however 56/57 is single, 57/58 is single and 63/64 is single.

Therefore I assume 59/60 would also be One Volume.

The publications page of 1959/60 Shipowners does NOT indicate that Volume 1 is in two parts, whereas it does in later volumes where that is the case.

Yes Mick, I have 1959/60 and it's just the one volume for ships.
64/65 was still single, 66/67 is two volumes, so not sure re 65/66.

I found one for sale, need to know if I am buying one of a set (that would determine the price).
Thanks

It depends on the year Geoff.

I don't have a full set for that period but 50/51, 53/54 and 54/55 are in two volumes.

56/57, 57/58 and 63/64 are single.

66/67 is in two volumes.

1954/55 was the last of the two volumes and included the lists of shipowners.
In 1955/56 the list of Shipowners was published as a separate volume and the register reduced to a single volume until 1966/67 when it returned to two volumes..............for a good while.

I bought 1973 - 1974 yesterday on Ebay 2 volumes 22.00 euro ( £18.00 ) plus 14.50 euro postage, they are not fetching very much. 1959 - 60 is now up on ebay, looks to be in good condition auction starting at 10 euro I will go 20 max on it.
If you have one in good nick for that let me know.
