BONGA seems to fill the river as she rounds Whitehill Point.


and passes the ferry landing with her flotilla of tugs & port vessels.

BONGA as complete alongside at AMEC Wallsend 10/2003.
BONGA's hull was built by Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea for the owner operator Shell.
She was then towed to the Tyne for the topsides to be installed by AMEC.

RT SPIRIT & RT MAGIC helping out at the "front end" of the BONGA.

FAR SALTIRE leads the tow out.

MAERSK LOGGER is "tail end Charlie".
I guess she's positioned there just in case something goes really wrong and they need to back the BONGA up.

Head tugs were SMITWIJS SINGAPORE, FRIGGA (L) & FENJA (R)

BONGA passes the Fish Quay and round the bend.


and on the tail were KINCRAIG, PACIFIC BANNER and ROWANGARTH (L-R)
