Bottom of Newcastle Quay just before the Ouse Burn. the new buildings were for the Docker's and just above the Domestos sign can be seen the beginings of the Byker Wall.

The DECCA SCANNER was built in Norway as the Trawler Warwick Bay and bought by the Decca Nvigation Company limited in 1973. Managers were Oil Search Marine Management.

Date of build was 1968 so she was not very old when they bought her. She was fitted with a 1200 bhp Wichmann Engine plus a Controllable Pitch Prop giving her a speed of 12.5 Knots. She also had bow and stern thrusts.

The name was obviously painted on at the pit cause those letters are big enough to be seen miles away.......
