This would be the CYPRIAN COAST (q.v.).
Seems to be a full official investigation report at:

I knew I had this in my archives, although I cannot now remember the source, but very surprised I have not posted it to NEM before now.
I believe this shows her following the 1955 collision:

Checking back the above image was sent to me by Rivoldini Ron and was featured on my TEESSHIPS website back in 2002.
Ron sent me quite a few historic photos, many of which I think will be of interest to us NEM viewers.

Hey up, CYPRIAN COAST was a small standard engine and bridge AFT coaster, ex ALNWICK
https://www.tynebuiltships.co.uk/A-Ships/alnwick1936.htmlThis vessel has a more substantial main mast, and 'cabins' aft of the funnel, who is she?
Maybe from another Coast Lines group, running under TT charter.

George,
Interesting query. I hoped reference to Nick TRobins book about Tyne-Tees might resolve the matter but a quick perusal does not throw up any alternative candidates. The 1955 sinking is covered on pages 112 and 113 and the location certainly accords with the photo. I hadn't initially realised the photo tuncated the fore part of the vessel judt forward of the foremost mast. The two masts also seem to conform to layout of the CYPRIAN COAST. All the photos in the book seem to be of her at some time after the incident. I had hoped there would be a view of her as built as ALNWICK but no. Maybe the mainmast was replaced by a slightly lesser version when rebuilt? Although built at different shipyards she was said to be a sister of the NOVIAN COAST but I can't see any significant differences in their respective profiles.
On the balance of probabilities I am still inclined to say this photo does show the CYRIAN COAST after her 1955 sinking.
