MAGDAPUR

I believe MAGDAPUR (1945) was making her way up to Smiths Dock, North Shields, on 9th May 1965, while the inbound MAHANADA (1943) was passing Greenock on her way up to Glasgow on July 2nd 1965
Both ships were built with accommodation that ran alongside their centre hold, a feature not seen on previous war built Brocklebank ships. No doubt the extra space would be put to good use by the additional wartime crew members on board. Apparently MAHANADA in particular originally had an impressive array of anti-aircraft weapons, and the gunners to operate them of course
While alike in outward appearance the newer of the two ships had an additional pair of king posts to serve her centre hold
