The suction dredger Arco Beck, completed at Kinderdijk in 1989, leaving the river this afternoon following a spell in drydock at A&P Hebburn.

Sand is very hard wearing on pipes,valves and pumps especially the wear rings on the pumps which needed frequent adjustments and of course technology has moved on.
