Help!

Postby Rivoldini » Thu Jan 16, 2020 3:24 pm

Could anyone please help me with the i.d. of this one at Newcastle Quay c1989. I think the port of registry is Piraeus.

I thought she might have been one of London & Oversea's Freighters that were built in Sweden but they did not have the H/goalpost right aft.
Looks Swedish built to me

Her funnel seems same as Royal Holland Lloyd but they don't seem to have had anything to match. As Graham comments, it's the single goalpost aft that is the odd feature.
p.s. looking again though, a similar goalpost in front of her bridge?
p.p.s. you could try it on the SeaTheShips site, quite a lot of expertise there.

Thanks gentsfor your advice. I did the Talbot Booth KKFM .... thing and the nearest I have come up with was Ropners Willowpool, renamed Emmanuel Marcou, Liberia. That's the nearest I can come up with,

Ron

I think you are right about this being the former WILLOWPOOL. As EMMANUEL MARCOU Miramar shows her as being Greek flag from 1976 to 1982 (your 1989 timeframe would then be way out!!). This is supported by Ken Lubi seeing her, presumably on the Tyne, in 1978. See: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... lid=928834
