San Jose Obrero (B&W) .jpg
A steamer completed as P MADSEN in 1924 at the yard of Aalborg Skibswerft, Aalborg, for owners A/S D/S Vendila of Copenhagen
She carried nine different names during her career which ended in 1969 when she was demolished by breakers at La Spezia
From 1959 until 1962 she bore the name SAN JOSE OBRERO, while in the ownership of Soc. Maritima Comercial Costaricense Ltda, of Panama. During this time she visited Dunston staithes and is seen when almost ready to depart, with a fair amount of material piled on her decks.
In the background, close by the "old" Redheugh Bridge, an ex-naval vessel is being reduced to scrap.
