Completed by G Brown & Co. (Marine) of Greenock in 1945 as EMPIRE BROMLEY for the Ministry Of War Transport. She was one of the "Tudor Queen" class of dry cargo coasters, a design based on a prototype of that name which came from Burntisland shipbuilders in 1941, built for the Queenship Navigation Co.
In 1946 she was purchased by the Constantine Shipping Co. Ltd., Middlesborough, and renamed LEVENWOOD.
Sold to London owners Panex Overseas Ltd. in 1961 and renamed BASILDON
Still under the Red Ensign the following year she passed into the registered ownership of the Don Shipping Co. Ltd., and was placed under the management of C M Willie & Co. (Shipping) Ltd.
R S Braggs & Co. took over her management in 1963
Belgian shipbreakers disposed of her at Burcht in 1967
