Dave, the grassy knoll with which you will be familiar! However, no use today as the GENAVA was too far along the quay, so from in front of the row of houses it was for the first shot!

Thanks Ron, sorry I didn't recognise it as a knoll. Never thought it would give me much height advantage.
Will try it out next time I'm down that way.

When is a knoll not a knoll, that is the question. It's beyond my knolledge. Maybe it depends on how high you are to start with.

GENAVA alongside Riverside Quay 06/09/2017.
Photo taken at extreme risk to aged body, hoisted up to the top of the wall.

Just had to visit the famous Knoll. Is it now more famous than the grassy knoll at Dallas?

First a view of Riverside Quay from the far end of the knoll (in Ron's photo)

Then from the same spot a view of the Car Terminals

Then a bit closer

Finally a view from the front

Result? Not impressed, but then:
a) Ron has a better camera
b) Ron may be six feet taller

No, I'm well under six feet myself.

However, hadn't realised that some view of the vehicle carriers at Jarrow may be obtained from my now famous knoll!
