Sir David Attenborough

Hadn't realised when I took this photo, but noticed later, that there was a new structure on the quayside (far right on the photo).
I am "reliably informed" that it is the stern of the SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH currently being built by Cammell Laird.
I hope this relationship with CL turns out happier than the last one.
Will try and get a better photo, now I know it is there.

Seems strange, I would have thought that would fit in the building hall at Birkenhead for construction, maybe not.

It certainly would fit in the Birkenhead hall George - it's probably a capacity issue - the programme is quite tight. Also logical in that A&P are owned by Atlantic & Peninsular Marine Services, shareholders in which include Peel Ports and directors of & investrors in Cammell Laird.

Yes, well caught Dennis, I managed to miss her. She was well out towards the horizon when I got to Tynemouth.
I wonder what the white patched are? On my last close-up shot there was some pretty complex steelwork in that area.
Also wonder whether there is much pre-outfitting inside there?

Hi Dave
I wonder if your 'white patches' are in fact for breaking up ice, the Ice Maiden had similar aft, OR maybe thruster tunnels :D
