Facebook comments today that the EARL OF ZETLAND is in the process of being broken up and lifted out of her berth at Royal Quays Marina.

Oh what a pity and will be a sad end to this once fine lady as I had many a good pint aboard sitting infront of the coal fire i the top bar

Agree, but I cannot say that I am surprised, she has looked very down at heel for some time. The current situation cannot have helped either, however we should congratulate her current owners for keeping her going as long as they have done. It cannot have been easy.

Be interesting to see how they complete the job, as there will be a point where it is impossible to keep the remaining part of the hull afloat.
