Built Bremerhaven in 1987 as the NILS HOLGERSSON.
31,395 Gross. 4,110 Dwt. 20 Kts.
Subsequent History:

93 VAL DE LOIRE - 06 KING OF SCANDINAVIA - 11 KING SEAWAYS

But are her days numbered due to the EU Lower Sulphur Fuel Regulations??

Have either of these DFDS ships been modified for the low sulphur directive?
If not then presumably they can't continue after January 2015

Same with PRIDE OF BRUGES / YORK down here, nothing said publicly re the Zeebrugge service but they seem to be in same position.

The alternative is to buy even more expensive low-sulphur fuel?

It was a bit chilly, but bright sunny days are too infrequent to waste!
