River Tyne trip - 27 June 1976:

Oh, all right, if you insist, I'll blow them up a bit for you!

According to the Harrison book (Graeme Cubbin) the PLAINSMAN had suffered fire damage on 27 April 1976 while at Manchester and then towed to the Tyne for a major refit. She returned to service on 1 July 1979 (sic).
(The name of PLAINSMAN become relevant again with regard to a posting still to come!!)
