George she looks as if she has just completed a drydocking - paintwork looks very fresh
And I think her and her sisters were built for the Goole coal trade to south coast ports so she might be heading down your way to load
Excellent picture though

Good point young Graham, they did trade ex Goole but would have thought might have taken the opportunity to load while in the Tyne, maybe they knew we had only nice clean ships at Goole ....

Maybe they were used to loading Yorkshire coal hewn by real Yorkshiremen n hauled t' the surface by real Yorkshire ponies fed on real Yorkshire hay and water straight from the Dales.
Or maybe they just fancied a trip through the countryside to Goole

Thanks George. That's the conclusion I reached but it seemed a bit potty so I bottled out mentioning it!
If she was turning up the coast, to load at Blyth for example, then she would be turning to port once outside the piers of course. Pure speculation from myself!

Could also mean I am leaking dangerous cargo-I am altering course to port.

Its such a strange hoist to fly, trouble is, I cannot find an up to date Two Letter Hoist....

In 1916 J over I used to mean "Any letters (or papers) from ........."
