Bibby Sapphire

Postby Tynesider » Sat Jan 24, 2015 2:14 pm

Anyone know who is operating the old Swans dock which has been recommissioned and now has the Bibby Sapphire sitting in it, or is it being operated by A & P Hebburn, last ship was the Ice Maiden 1 in that dock.

Well the guy who was speaking on the radio at last nights failed attempt was the same guy who does the docking at A&P. Sealane divers were going into the dock this afternoon.

So what happened last night? Couldn't they get the gate shut?

I see in your link to Freddie Shepherd enterprises that they have also purchased a huge crane for the site. Did North Tyneside Council ever install a crane at the Wallsend Yard?

Might have had problems getting over the cill due to her draft or maybe the gate was stuck again. hope they get her back out again as we have big tides at present but I am sure they all know what they are doing!.

Last time I had a good look at the gate it looked ready for the scrap yard :D

The North Tyneside Crane is still in bits and subject to an investigation regarding its purchase.

Good to see a second dock in active use on the river. Lets hope it continues.
