1930, 213grt
Built by Fellows of Great Yarmouth as OULTON BELLE
She was a double-ended steamer for work on the Norfolk Broads
Converted to single-ended in 1946
Renamed REGAL LADY in 1953 and converted to diesel in 1955, employed at Scarborough
Returned to Norfolk 1970 to 1987 but came back to Scarborough

Hey up, you've been having a grand day out on the lovely Yorkshire coast! Picked a nice day for it, mind you it's always hot and sunny south of the Tees. ;)

It certainly was a grand day, pleasantly warm in the sun and the smell of chips, doughnuts, hot dogs and shellfish in the breeze.

The old lady is now static as a 'Dunkirk Museum Ship' at Scarborough

I hate people giving incorrect information as per her display plate

as she was never 'commissioned into the Royal Navy', there never was an 'HMS OULTON BELLE'
as the entry on our shipbuilding site shows, she was requisitioned and then purchased by the Ministry of War Transport
