Overside working at Hull - photos wanted

Postby northeast » Sat Feb 02, 2019 1:00 pm

I am looking for more photos that show overside working to barges at Hull, appreciate that most photos show either ships or barges but getting some good views of for example ships breasted off to work barges inside, or union-purchase offside, would be helpful. Especially for example at Alex Dock where ships berthed stern-to to work barges on both sides, although appreciate that was quite some years back! All this to strengthen a talk to the local IWA branch later this year, but also useful for the shipbuilding site. Hope some of you can help.

The practice was more or less over by the time I started taking photos - there may be some of the Brazilian boats with barges alongside in the Hull gallery but only 1 or 2 barges at most.
