One of the oldest Thorne built vessels still afloat and possibly the most famous, the VIC 32 seen in Loch Oich 02/09/2008.

My arrival at James Watt Dock at Greenock on 23/05/2017 was by chance very well timed, a cloud of smoke indicated something special was happening down the quay!
Away she goes with another set of adventurous cruisers.

VIC 32 C/s - Basic steam VIC.
O. N.169311. 96g. 41n. 140d. 66.8 x 18.5 x 8.8 feet.
C.2-cyl. (10½” & 22” x 14”) by Crabtree (1931) Ltd, Gt Yarmouth. 12.7nhp; 100rhp; 130ihp. 7½ knots. Boiler by Cochran & Co (Annan) Ltd, Annan.
3.7.1943: Launched by Richard Dunston Ltd, Thorne (Yard No. 411)
17.8.1943: Registered at Hull, vessel No.72 of 1943.
8.1943: Completed for the Ministry of War Transport, London, (Stanley Lancelot Tottle, Hull, manager at the Ministry).
31.8.1943 until 13.7.1944: Allocated to miscellaneous naval duties
14.7.1944 until 13.8.1944: Undergoing repairs.
14.8.1944: Allocated to miscellaneous naval duties at Fort William until 1946.
4.1946: Owner restyled as the Ministry of Transport, (same manager).
1947: Transferred to the Admiralty and renamed C.702.
14.4.1947: Hull register closed, consequent of transfer to the Admiralty.
12.1963: Sold to Turner & Hickman, Glasgow.
3.1964: Sold to J. A. White & Co, St. Davids, reportedly for demolition.
1969: Sold to Keith Schellenberg, taken to Whitby and laid up.
10.1975: Sold to N & R Walker, London, restored and converted for passenger operations as VIC 32.
19xx: Transferred to The Puffer Preservation Trust.
2006: Re-boilered.
